Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘The Retribution’ by Dr. Shankar Kashyap

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Neeti Parti for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Book Title: The Retribution Author: Shankar Kashyap Format: Kindle The Title of the book is ‘intriguing’. It immediately captures the interest of the readers who enjoy thriller genre, who is now ready to sit down with this book after dinner to spend the night chewing nails over ‘who dunnit’ and the book lives up to this expectation. Dev Sharma is a complex character. He is a priest who strives to stay true to his calling but is constantly struggling with his other ‘dimensions’. The story of Sean, the cop runs parallel. As the novel progresses, the characters begin taking definitive shapes and come together with the murder of Dev in very strange circumstances. Dr Shankar Kashyap keeps his readers hanging by the thread and keeps one hooked to the very end. Such is the pace of the book that the reader’s interest never fla

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘The Retribution’ by Dr. Shankar Kashyap

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Sangeeta Paik for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Book Title: The Retribution Author: Shankar Kashyap Format: Kindle Title : The title of the book is unique yet mysterious. It's apt to the plot. Cover : The cover page looks scary as well as thrilling. It gives a subtle hint to readers about the storyline. My review: It's a suspense thriller novel. The story is so gripping that it will hold the readers till the end. The plot encircles around the protagonist Dev Sharma, a good man and a priest too, who has many secrets hidden in his past life which get unveiled one by one as we move ahead with the chapters. Dev Dev Sharma's brutal murder ropes in the detective Sean into this high profile case. The characters of "Dev" and "Sean"  are well portrayed. The language is kept simple qnd easy to understand. The narrating style of the author is

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Swapna Peri for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Book Title: The Retribution Author: Kashyap, Shankar N Format: Kindle Book Title: The title of the book is ‘The Retribution’ is unique and mysterious. Book Cover: The cover of the book is a digital image of a half-faced person. The title of the book is in deep dead red and the blood dripping right from the bottom of the title. This gives a clear idea to the reader that the story is to do with suspense, murder, and thrill. Plot: Dev Sharma, who lives a luxurious and comfy life and also a priest in the temple, has many secrets in his life. His wife Sheena is modern and devoted to him. He struggles calmly with a lot of concerns going inside his head which are inexplicable and things which he cannot thrash out with anyone. His murder lifts up a lot of questions in the story and the inspector named Sean O’Conner will take

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘The Retribution’ by Dr. Shankar Kashyap

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Having reviewed his Harappa Trilogy earlier, we had set very high expectations and author lived up to it. The narration style needs a special mention. From the title of the book and cover image, it is little difficult to gauge the climax and that is where the book excels its competitors. A thriller gets spoiled if the author fails to outwit the readers. Luckily, ‘The Retribution’ by Dr. Shankar Kashyap proved his excellence in safeguarding the turns and twists till the very end. He could skillfully keep his readers engaged till the last para where the actual story unfolds. Character sketch of Dev is awesome especially the dilemmas looked very authentic. Inspector had shades of Sherlock Holmes but definitely adds a very fresh approach of solving crimes. Overall, Literoma rates the book as a 4.5*/5* and would eagerly look forward to rea

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘The Retribution’ by Dr. Shankar Kashyap

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Reetwika Banerjee for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** ‘The Retribution’ by Dr. Shankar Kashyap is a hidden wonder I must admit. Being such an avid reader, why did not I choose to read this book earlier, is a big question for me now after a continuous association of 10 days. The novel is a psycho thriller, a typical 'who done it' kind of storyline. Right from character building, scene setting, technical details, connecting links, murder plots and especially motive revelations make it a complete thriller novel. The cover page hardly depicts 50% of its actual potential. But the book title could not have been better. Going by dictionary meaning of the word 'retribution' it means, "punishment inflicted on someone as vengeance for a wrong or criminal act." Dev's character perfectly fits into the shoes of such a heavy title. Within the very first thr

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘And So Can You’ by Dr. Roopleen

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Heena Patel for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** And So can You by Dr. Roopleen is a collection of 17 successful stories. I will not say that, it’s the story of 17 successful “doctors”, as this book not only says about how they became doctors but it says about their passion for the thing they wanted. Every person faces the “struggle” phase, if he/she wants to achieve something and this book will surely guide you to face that phase. “And So Can You” is the apt title for book. If those 17 common people can become successful Doctors, SO CAN YOU. Author has used very simple language, so that you can easily connect to the story. One thing I found common in every story, that every doctor comes from a small village of Haryana, Rajasthan, etc. They were just having dreams when they were young, but they worked too hard to turn their dreams into reality. My ratings is 4/5. This book

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘The Retribution’ by Dr. Shankar Kashyap

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Sandeep Sharma for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** I really liked the way this book ‘The Retribution’ is written. The storyline is totally unpredictable. The twists and turns are very well represented. The only thing that I found problematic was the cover of the book. It is just not as appealing as the story itself. The story is about a person named Dev. He was enjoying his life in the US till his father decides to make him a priest. That’s where the things start to drift apart and secrets of past life start to reveal. One by one, the real self of different characters of the book get introduced and that’s what makes the book a must read. I will rate the novel as 4.5*/5* and would love to recommend this book to everyone who loves to read thrillers.

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘The Retribution’ by Dr. Shankar Kashyap

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Tarun B for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** ‘The Retribution’ by Dr. Shankar Kashyap is a psychological thriller novel published by myBooks Publication. Author being a doctor himself has been successful in crafting the character sketch of his protagonist Dev Sharma. He has also keenly joined the murder plots and modus operandi of the assassination so realistically that makes the novel a truly engrossing read. In this world of self published books, it has become really difficult to pick a quality book, and this being a novel of thriller genre had made me skeptical even before I started reading it. But my ideas changed as I kept flipping through the pages and at the end discovered an awesome storyline, not only fresh but also portrays quite innovative reasons of murder. Though no English thriller is free from Sherlock Holmes' shadow, but Sean has brought in some freshness

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Satabdi Mukherjee for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Just as you think you've got the answer, Kashyap adds another twist in this grisly murder mystery replete with drugs, jealousy, homosexuality, intrigue, and violence. You must pay attention to every word if you want to keep up with the story because it isn't straightforward in any sense. The descriptions of drug-induced hazes are particularly interesting—you almost feel like you're in one yourself. Kashyap writes so lucidly that you can feel the warmth of Mombasa and the chill of Leicester as Dev is rudely snatched away from his childhood haven. You feel sorry for him as he is unable to comprehend how and why the world is changing so quickly around him. Or is he? From Inspector Sean's revelations of Dev's writings in his little red book, it does not seem that Dev is quite as innocent as he is first m

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Saswati Rath for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** To be honest I was taken aback after completing this book. God damn, it's so wonderfully written! Initially I couldn't comprehend the title but on proceeding further, I don't think apart from 'The Retribution', anything else would be perfect for it. I find the cover a bit unrevealing as the reader can't predict the storyline with one look at it. Coming to the plot, it's a psychological thriller where the relationship between father and son has been portrayed. The protagonist, named as Dev, is well settled in UK, leaving a life full of opulence. But, later with progression of the story, Dev's nature, experiences and darker secrets get unfolded and brought to limelight. What I liked is Author Shankar Kashyap's unique approach towards the storyline which keeps the reader's hooked till th

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘Naivedya 2018’ by KARBA

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Merril Anil for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** 'The Retribution' by Dr. Shankar Kashyap - What a ride!! The book takes you for a spin and the way it moves from one sequence to another is amazing. It just holds you hooked and refusing to leave you from its shackles till the very end. I love how the author had maintained strictly business kind of narration without deterring from the plot with unnecessary detours and characters. Each plot development subsequently unwraps events in such a manner that it leads to more and more exciting twists and thrills in the plot line. The book promises a good and enthralling read and with never a dull moment to the book and that is why it makes for an exciting and thrilling read. The characters especially the main character has so many layers to peel that it in itself makes the book, worth all the fun. The core book plot is very i

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘The Retribution’ by Dr. Shankar Kashyap

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Swarup Pandey for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** 'The Retribution' by Dr. Shankar Kashyap is a tale of the protagonist Dev and his journey and different aspects of his life. The title is the most eye catching thing because the book honestly lives up to its title and gives us a wonderful thriller novel. This book tells us the story of Dev as he and his family move from Kenya to UK. It is one of the best psychological thriller that I have ever read. It brilliantly portraits the life of Dev and the changes he has to make, his behaviour and his attitude. The way the story builds is beautifully depicted by the author in an engaging piece of work. The story just grips you with its simple but powerful writing. The story further moves with lots of twists and turns and once you start reading there seems to a connection with it. It also delves into the life in the shadows an

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘And So Can You’ by Dr. Roopleen

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Tushar Jain for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Motivational books always attract me but I rarely come across non fiction books which actually deliver a great message. This book is from one of the rare instance where I actually loved the complete concept being a business student. The first thing I loved about this book is the concept of combining different successful people's stories who once struggled hard to reach where they are now. I would support the title completely as it goes with the way the book is narrated. There's no doubt that this book is an amazing one with wonderful and hard moments explained in a simple way. After going through all the stories, I would say that hard work surely pays you one day and just that patience is required to reach your goal. Author being a doctor herself has done a truly inspirational and wonderful work by comibicom all the best

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘And So Can You’ by Dr. Roopleen

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Saswati Rath for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** I love reading motivational genre books. And it ain't the first but the second book by Dr. Roopleen which I have read. I was amazed by the first one's writing and presenting style, still had a bit of hesitation to read this one. You know when preconceived notions come to play. Being a budding Technocrat, I thought this book with a stethoscope in its cover, isn't my cup of tea. But, my perception changed to a whole new level on completing it. It's a gem of its kind, actually. The book "And so can you" is collection of seventeen short stories which has been penned down by taking insights from doctors from different branches of medical science. Each story which you read is unique as compared to the other and also leaves a impression on every reader's mind. We, as human being, have never been in the
