Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES - 'Fatal Fallout: A Vikram Rana Mystery' by Sharmistha Shenoy

** Thanks to author for gifting us a Kindle copy of the book for review. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** 'Fatal Fallout: A Vikram Rana Mystery' by Sharmistha Shenoy takes the reader through a roller coaster ride through the eyes of heroic cop Vikram Rana and gracious Gauri. The novel starts with a tension scene of a woman being robbed and murdered and then soon the anti climax is hit where the reality gets revealed. The storyline is not awesome but very free flowing and the characterizations have been handled well by the author. Being a Kindle book, I could not judge the cover but the content between the covers is a must witness I will say. Narrations came well to my eyes with a visual treat. The only aspect of storytelling which could have been better was the context setting. Since the topic selected is cliche, a better context setting would have resulted into a better connect with readers from different walks of life, esp

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "Ballad of a Belle" by Rahul Tushar

** Thanks to the author for sharing a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Tarun Kumar for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** ‘Ballad of a Belle’ is a debut novel written by globe trotter Mr. Rahul Tushar. Born to a family of broadcasters, the novelist seems to be perfectly in love with his family tradition and that gets reflected through his creative imaginations found in the book. There is a murder which happens at the end. Surrounding the tipping point, the author has joined the subplots and modus operandi of the assassination so realistically that makes the novel a truly engrossing read. Author being a travel freak and hill top lover, has beautifully crafted the background of the novel in Kashmir, shared so many unknown sides of the paradise, connecting each dot at the end. Indian characters of Aarti, Dileep, Arun and Priya have been carefully built to coincide with the climax. So is the non-Indian character Stan. It becomes extremely difficult for

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: 'Making a Poem' by Vihang A. Naik

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer Tarun Kumar for reviewing the book on behalf of #Literoma. ** Vihang A. Naik is a Surat based bilingual poet (English and Gujarati), published in various anthologies and literary journals of India. 'Making a Poem' is his second book which is a collection of twenty five poems penned in English. Each poem depicts the poet's deep conscience through an inner eye and that's where it stands apart from other contemporary poetry books. There is a very different style of poetry writing I found in Vihang's book. To quote a few lines from his poem "The end of an affair", "She became a ghazal in return First silence is poetry than words." Wow how deep are his thoughts!! Another couplet which touched my heart was from the poem "In rains" "A poem sails above road level with yesterday's flood report." Majority of his poems are

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: 'Making a Poem' by Vihang A. Naik

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of #Literoma. ** 'Making a Poem' is a beautiful poetry book by Vihang A. Naik where every word has been well penned and effectively moulded to create an instant magic in reader's mind. I, personally being a relationship empowered person, have cherished reading almost all the poems published in the book. The book cover image captures the right mood of the author as a mirror of his thoughts. Loved the concept and I must congratulate Mr. Naik for the perfect capture. Paper quality of the book is very good and so is the print quality. But a professional font could have been used for a better cover and interior getup. The book 'Making a Poem' is a lovely collection of 25 English poems presented in five sections, each named beautifully. The poems which touched my heart are Women and Man, At Seventeen and Are you looking for that poet. Th

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "Ballad of a Belle" by Rahul Tushar

** Thanks to the author for sharing a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Reetwika Banerjee for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Well what to say about this book? Right from the book title, book cover, page quality, print quality, story scene setting, flow of story, characterizations, climax and the finishing - the book left me engrossed in it's totality. After a very long time, I read a novel of this quality. I must congratulate the author for gifting modern Indian literature such a high standard masterpiece. I can see this book making it to the bestseller list of 2019. Coming to the book's aspects - title 'Ballad of a Belle' the lyrical naming in itself creates an immediate impact on reader's mind. So is the cover image. The designer did a wonderful job in capturing the essence of Aarti and Priya's dual characters through the silhoutte. Though the image looks a little younger than the actual age of the protagonists but it do

** Vihang A. Naik’s collection of poem framed in “Making a Poem” is a book beyond love, hatred, anguish, feelings amalgamating emotions to fiction.  Poetry is a lot more than just a piece of literature; it’s something beyond that. Not as in hip, but like an event, a place to be, but not like a location, but like somewhere within yourself. It gives you time, but not actual hours or minute’s, but a chance to be, like be yourself, and have a second thought. The poems beautifully reverberate around several emotions which we encounter in everyday life and reflecting on the way we react to it. Take any emotion—love for a woman or grief for a loved one, or what we are going through, fear and pain from a deadly illness. The book delivers that If you hold back on the emotions—if you don’t allow yourself to go all the way through them—you can never

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "Together Forever to Never" by Satish Goyal

** Thanks to the author for sharing a Kindle copy of the book for review.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Reetwika Banerjee for reviewing the book on behalf of #Literoma. ** "Together Forever to Never" is a short and crisp tell a tale kind story by author Satish Goyal. The catchy title itself speaks a lot about the theme. The love life of a couple gets impacted by mutual promises and breakups and finally ends with a twist by a heroic entry of second lead. The plot is very filmy and fits well into a commercial Bollywood film. Author uses conversation style in the narrations to keep it like a script which I loved the most. The cover page is also attractive and depicts the storyline well. My only suggestion is if the word limit could have been slightly increased, the characterizations could have been established better. I second the author in quick storytelling keeping in mind the level of patience of modern readers, but some storylines deserve more time than others. I am s

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "A bus ride: and other short stories" by Biswajit Nath

** Thanks to the author for gifting a Kindle copy of the book for review.** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** 'A bus ride: and other short stories' is a collection of only three lovely short stories by debutant author Biswajit Nath. Looks like the author loves travelling a lot as out of three, couple of them are set at the backdrop of train and bus journeys. The stories are narrated in a simple style, leaving an everlasting impact on its readers. Each of the plots can be well understood by anyone and everyone and there lies the beauty of this book. My personal favourite of the three is "The Bookstall by the station". It clearly carries the author's love for books when he builds the character of the storyteller. And the storyline is an unfortunate truth of modern world. The other two stories are good as well but this one touched my heart the most. I will eagerly look forward to read more of his stories in future. Ov
