Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "Looking Through the Prism" by Dr. Sujata Chatterjee

** Thanks to the author for sharing a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Tarun for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** English poetry always fascinates me and I am in love with the beauty of this language eversince I started appreciating verses more than prose. With time, youngsters too have started creating wonders in English and this book is definitely one of those which is going to stay in reader's mind for long. There are just seventeen poems but each has a magic of its own. The verses coupled with pictorial depictions (though black and white) have created an enchanting feeling in me. I am sure others too would second my thoughts if they choose to read Dr. Sujata's "Looking Through the Prism". The cover image is little amateurish compared to the original contents which in my personal opinion, perhaps the photo of the Scottish bungalow would be more apt than the present image. The book carries the feel of that lonely bungalow in al

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "A Hiccup in Love" by Nivedita Vedurla

** Thanks to the author for sharing a Kindle copy of the book for review.** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Bookshelves are incomplete without romance genre on the racks. Even being one of the oldest forms of fiction, it still has a charm of its own. "A Hiccup in Love" by Nivedita Vedurla is a wonderful novel for all age groups, though I will personally recommend it for matured readers who have gone through the marietal ups and downs in life to better appreciate the contents of the book. The story majorly revolves around the life of Eshita, her soul mate, her husband and their son with a twist in her husband's character. The tough psychological situations, conflicts with parents, moments of dilemma, choosing between love and arranged marriage, dubious character traits, infidelity, mental stress if you have dependents (especially kids) are such feelings which are more relatable to readers who have crossed the hiccup of marr

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "Dipak to Dev" by Sharmila Maiti

** Thanks to our reviewer Reetwika Banerjee for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** The Bengali book "Dipak to Dev" by Sharmila Maiti was released during Kolkata International Boof Fair 2019. At first when Rohon invited me at the book launch ceremony, I felt very glad. Soon the gladness turned grey when I came to know that superstar Dev himself will be personally present in the stall to launch the book. Honestly speaking, I was confident to find it to be a publicity stunt by the organizers as arranging security of such a high rank celebrity in an open public forum like book fair was just next to impossible. Also, a massively popular public figure like Dev must not even have time to make it for the launch. As an author myself, I wished to meet Sharmila because it is always very special to meet the writer in person, that too at her own book launch, listen live to her inspirations behind conceptualizing the book, her messages to readers and so on... But I was taken a

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "Looking Through the Prism" by Dr. Sujata Chatterjee

** Thanks to the author for sharing a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** I personally believe, Poetry is a lot more than just a piece of literature; it’s something beyond that. 'Looking Through the Prism’ is a beautiful poetry book by Dr. Sujata Chatterjee which starts with an equally beautiful quote by The Prophet Kahlil Gibran "Let there be spaces in your togetherness." The book comprises of only seventeen short poems where every word has been well penned and effectively moulded to create an instant magic in reader's mind. It is a collection of poems beyond love, hatred, anguish, feelings amalgamating emotions to fiction and some of them are beautifully represented through pictures. The poems beautifully reverberate around several emotions which we encounter in everyday life and reflecting on the way we react to it. I, personally being a poetry lover, have cherished reading almost all the poem

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "It's Not Called Love" by Samayita Dhuli

** Thanks to the author for sharing a Kindle copy of the book for review.** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** In today's thriller flooded entertainment world, "It's Not Called Love" by Samayita Dhuli  is a hidden wonder I must admit. From the title I initially expected it to be a common love story but slowly as I started flipping down the pages, I was taken aback with the change in shades. Being such an avid reader of the genre, I enjoyed reading it till the end. The novel is basically a psycho thriller. Right from character building of Eshita, romance shots, scene setting, connecting links, crime plots and especially bipolar personality revelations make it a complete dark thriller novel. The cover page hardly depicts 50% of its actual potential. However being a psycho thriller, certain medical details about the psychological disorder could have made it an informative read for me. But the book title could not have been

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "The Modern Day Hindu" by Nikhil Chandwani

** Thanks to author for gifting us a Kindle copy of the book for review.** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** The tradition of re-telling Hindu classics is almost as old as the epic itself. Author Nikhil Chandwani not only attempted it but did a fablous job while spicing it up with contemporary concepts, social media addtictions, Hollywood scifis, hi-tech science, the solar system, world literatue and what not! The best part of the book is its concept of drawing analogies between age-old Hinduism and these nonreligious hifi stuffs, added with colourful schematics and scientific formulae at times. The cover page is aptly designed, however the book scores less in editing. The reading experience of such a wonderful book could have been way better if professional copyediting and formatting could have been taken care of. However, the book exposed me to a fantastic dimension of modern literary arts and I wish to congratulate the writer for exper

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "The Panchateertha (Part 1)" by Rajiv Mittal

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a Kindle copy of the book for review. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer Reetwika Banerjee for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** As we all know, 'The Panchatantra' is one of the highest read Indian moral classics and most of us have grown up reading the stories either in plain cover or through pictorial depictions. And I still remember many of the lessons learnt from the book even today. Rajiv Mittal tried a fantastic way to touch upon the classic with a contemporary satirical approach. The effort really needs to be applauded not only because of the innovative conceptualization but also taking due care of the age-old beliefs and morals taught through the classic over centuries. At the beginning, I was a little skeptical about the contents (reading the title and overview on Amazon), but as I kept exploring the book deeper, I was left amazed at his creative imaginary. How subtly Rajiv has brushed the chosen sections of Panchatant

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "Looking Through the Prism" by Dr. Sujata Chatterjee

** Thanks to the author for sharing a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Satabdi Mukherjee for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** A collection of poems cannot be read like a novel, covering several chapters a day. Each poem is to be savoured and mulled over. Think—How do YOU feel about it? What does it say to YOU? I believe that the magic of a poem lies in the manner in which each person interprets it in a slightly different way. "Looking through the Prism" is a collection of 17 delightful poems that can be easily covered in a day, but I chose to give each piece time to sink in. Sujata Chatterjee has covered a wide range of subjects in her poems, from descriptions of nature to the meaning of freedom to hope, love, memories, and beauty. I found "Exhaustion" to be most relatable as it deals with the futility of memorizing facts as part of the current school education system instead of learning life skills and developing one's per

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "Looking Through the Prism" by Dr. Sujata Chatterjee

** Thanks to the author for sharing a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Swapna Peri for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Book Title: Looking through the Prism: Spectrum Author: Sujata Chatterjee Format: Paperback Book Title: The title of the book ‘ Looking through the Prism: Spectrum ‘ is very unique. Book Cover: The cover image of the book is a painting of a bird sitting on a bloomed branch of a plant. The colors used in the image look very soothing. Inside the book: The book is a collection of poems where each poem mainly focuses on nature and it elements. Be it a flower or rain or valley or sky or water or water forms, the author has described every feeling with a sense of attachment with the elements of nature. Often people tend to forget to appreciate the natural beauty which is a source of inspiration and relaxation but take up artificial ways. The little, short and long poems make a

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "Looking Through the Prism" by Dr. Sujata Chatterjee

** Thanks to the author for sharing a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Yuva Ranjini for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Book: Looking through the Prism: Spectrum Author: Sujata Chatterjee Publications: Notion press Format: Paperback & Kindle Genre: Poetry Pages: 47 The contents are divided into 17 parts. Each and every poem is well expressed with rhyming situations touching nature and love. And leaves with poignant and strong paradigms. The poems jut out right paces and rhythms. Like eyes the life-sustaining entities with its high & low tides of words. And we could totally relate our drifting emotional moods with all walks of our life. I love these lines seeing how the author has penned down her thoughts. So raw and undiluted. "Monarchs and masters threat ruled this kingdom Many many years ago Would they arise and change the history If I boost their vain ego?"

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "Blood and Beloved" by Krimson Ravyn

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a Kindle copy of the book for review. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer Reetwika Banerjee for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** "Blood and Beloved" is a English poetry book of Gothic dark poetry genre, arguably India's first as claimed by the author herself. Indeed after a long time, I got to read something which will remain with me for long. A fresh read from Indian literary spectrum. We do not get to read Gothic horror poetry much from Indian authors. From a reader's standpoint good to see the paradigm shift in traditional Indian English literature by the young generation. The impact of some of the poems are going to be truly long lasting. Though I am not a regular  poetry reader, but the title and genre caught my eyes at once and I started reading through the lines flapped inside the cover. I will like to specially applaud the young poet Krimson Ravyn for penning such an impacting read. Every word has been well pe

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "Ballad of a Belle" by Rahul Tushar

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Minarva Priyadarshini for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Ballad of belle by Rahul Tushar is a tale of a girl and her heart popping story which captivated me till the end and a page turner for me. Such type of plots and amazing narration has made the book more appreciated and worth taking. Coming to the plot,  AARTI is the protagonist of the story who belongs to a pandit family and was staying happily with her parents and brother. She has loved a wrong person and then eloped with him for the sake of her love but SANJIV, her lover is a man having wild behaviour. He has tortured her physically and mentally to satiate his desire on her. Her life shattered for her single wrong decision. But after that she realized her wrong step and moved on. Finally escaped from that demon. Aarti has experienced a lot of hurdles in her life and a girl having much patience who can easily over

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘Is that love or fantasy’ by Devi Raghuvanshi

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Reetwika Banerjee for reviewing the book on behalf of #Literoma. ** The cover page says it all - conflict between intercaste relationships and at the end it is the emotion which subdues in front of stringent religious beliefs. The death though called by author as natural, but in my opinion is it a murder in the name of religion. The novel depicts the sad story of such a couple through the lives of Varun and Afreen. Book title rather sounds cliche and is not exactly what the story takes turns towards. There is no confusion neither in Varun nor Afreen about their mutual emotional bonding. It's rather their conflicting religious beliefs which sets them apart in a dramatic way. I will like to rate the novel as 4*/5*. Recommended for social novel readers.

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘Indu - The Parched Woman’ by Devi Raghuvanshi

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Reetwika Banerjee for reviewing the book on behalf of #Literoma. ** The novel is the through the eyes of a young Bengali named Indu who gets married to Uday, a poor farmer from one of the most conservative Jat families of Haryana. Unfortunately, soon after their marriage Indu loses her love and is left alone with the girefs of widowhood. In a world full of interracial conflicts, how does she defend her feeble existence is the story all about. Like all his novels, Raghu did a wonderful storytelling against a social melodramatic backdrop. Characters of Ajay, Pihu and Indu have been well depicted so that readers feel for them while reading the book. Unlike other books, the cover page did not appeal me at all this time. May be because the cover image of the lady does not look like a Bengali old woman at all. I will like to rate the novel as 4*/5*.

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "Ballad of a Belle" by Rahul Tushar

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Inksatty for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** 'Ballad of a Belle' - a lifetime read indeed. Cannot say more than this! Grasped tightly till the end, a perfect mix of psycho thriller and romantic novel. Lots of turns and twists in characters of Priya and Aarti, well built story, wonderful narration style and above all a fantastic book cover made it a complete read for me. The print and paper quality of the book is worth mentioning. I will eagerly look forward to Rahul's next book that he is writing. Wll rate this one as 4*/5* and recommend for adult readers.

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: 'Making a Poem' by Vihang A. Naik

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer Satabdi for reviewing the book on behalf of #Literoma. ** Poetry is always a difficult form of literature is what I believe because you have limited words and space to express larger expressions. Being a poet myself, I always love reading English poetry by contemporary poets and this book stood out as one of the best of my recently reads. I must say, poet Vihang Naik has done a fabulous job in restricting his deep thoughts within the boundaries of just twenty five poems. They are written so simply that each of them touched my heart subtly. His poetic style is heartmelting indeed. To quote him from the poem "THE PEN", "These days the pen is at the end of making words that would be a poem for you, perhaps this is how poet breathes last. Now that the words have come to an end. You search your poem in the silence of death." Overall rating of the book for m

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "Ballad of a Belle" by Rahul Tushar

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Satabdi Mukherjee for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** What a breath-taking ride this book has been! Initially, I thought the book would have political undercurrents since it describes how Aarti, a Kashmiri Pandit, loses her home and half her family to terrorists. But then the narrative launches into the ups and downs of Aarti's life—and there's no looking back. The pace never lets up, even when mundane details are described, so you feel compelled to keep reading. How can a girl be so unfortunate, you think, that her own relatives forsake her? You shed tears for Aarti when she loses her mother and her house. You will her to be gutsy and strong when she is mistreated by a husband or a relative. You hope that the next man in her life is more deserving of her. In particular, you feel for Aarti's father who has not only lost his homeland, but also his wife and most o

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘The Retribution’ by Dr. Shankar Kashyap

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Satabdi Banerjee for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Book: The Retribution Author: Shankar Kashyap Format: Ebook Genre: Crime Thriller Pages: 196 Honestly, I will thank Dr. Kashyap for gifting us a masterpiece fiction which I think is far most the best narrative I have read in recent times. ‘The Retribution’ is a story of the thriller genre and what stands remarkably about the story is the way it is told. All the characters have been weaved so beautifully over each of the passing chapters in the story. We get a complete crisp on every character which revolves around the story-plot such that by the time you reach almost to the closure of the book, you keep imagining yourself on the right fit of that mysterious answer in conclusion. Dr. Kashyap masters the art of story weaving. I remember having listened to him once in Mumbai speaking of his book and his writing journey

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "Flights of Fantasy" by Dr. Sujata Chatterjee

** Thanks to the author for sharing a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** "Flights of Fantasy" by Dr. Sujata Chatterjee is a collection of thirteen short stories written in simple English language. Some of them really stand apart even compared to other contemporary popular books by marquee writers. I loved these two stories 'Granny's day out' and 'The holiday project' especially because of their story concept and differential thoughts expressed by the author. The cover design of the book is very different from the usual ones we keep finding these days that may be because of another striking aspect of the book and that is none other than the publisher - The London Miscellany. This book looks more like a sophisticated international magazine than a typical story book and that's the beauty. For a reader, the differential aspects of this book earns it an additional star in the rating

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "WITNESSED BY THE HILLS" by REECHA GOYAL

** Thanks to the author for sharing a Kindle copy of the book for review. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Genrally I do not enjoy reading eBooks, not because of any low quality premonition but because of the inconvenience of LED interface. I read books before going to sleep and the glow of the LED disturbs my dizziness whereas the smell of paperbacks makes the experience more relaxing for me. But this Kindle novel by Reecha is truly an exception. All my day's weariness vanished at the free flowing narration style of the author. It injected a feel good feeling to my soul whenever I spent time with it. The catchy title of the eBook "WITNESSED BY THE HILLS" did the magic for me in the beginning and then the contents hidden inside carried the intoxiation created by the title. Storytelling is extremely simplistic written using easy English words. It is a romantic novel with roller coasted episodes brushing Rhea and her love

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘The Retribution’ by Dr. Shankar Kashyap

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Yuva Ranjini M for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Book: The Retribution Author: Shankar Kashyap Format: Paperback and Kindle Genre: Crime, Thriller & Mystery Pages: 282 The Retribution: This story would break the stereotypes - the concept of smelling roses always. I am always a fan of crime thrillers which twists with great suspense. The story centres on a guy Dev along with his family from childhood to adult life. Overcoming his family’s struggles and moving out from Mombasa to England and thriving as a social worker & priest sorts. In the first part, it seems as a lighter suspense story comes up with the little dark and gritty concept. Later, it takes in Leicester like how dev’s life gets twisted post his marriage because of his sexual preferences and drug heist? Then there the shift gears up with all the charm of crime when Dev got murdered, mystery solvin

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘Love Lost in Transit’ by Devi Raghuvanshi

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Reetwika Banerjee for reviewing the book on behalf of #Literoma. ** The best part of the book is its title. Many say don't buy the book by its cover. But I believe, judge the book by its title. If it's a catch phrase, then the choice of words play a very significant role in my reading decision. The moment I picked this book for review, I was sure to read it till the end in earliest possible time frame as the title had rung the magic bells in my mind. And I am happy that the author did not disappoint me till the end. It also ends with a good message from the author - the flip side of momentary decision making through the flow of events and principal characters. As the title suggests, emotions might kiss death while moving ahead in life, but not the sexual desires. Sandra's character has been curated so neatly that she might arouse desirous feelings in many Indian women, espec

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘Mohini The Tigress’ by Devi Raghuvanshi

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Reetwika Banerjee for reviewing the book on behalf of #Literoma. ** ‘Mohini The Tigress’ by Devi Raghuvanshi is by far the best of all of his books I have read till now. Right from the catchy title to the cover design, it is an absolute reader's delight. If I had found the book at any bookstore, I am sure to have picked it for my next reading without any second thought. Coming to the novel plot in one line, it is a story of feminine torments, social harassments and their avenges through the eyes of the protagonist named Mohini. In today's society where every Indian witnesses a Nirbhaya fiasco around him or her, these kind of bold stories are much necessary and if influential authors like Dr. Raghuvanshi takes a step forward towards it, it is definitely going to have deeper impacts among the people through his readers. If it can change at least one life, that should be considered

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "Flights of Fantasy" by Dr. Sujata Chatterjee

** Thanks to the author for sharing a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer S Bando for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Well what to say about 'Flights of Fantasy'?? A collection of thirteen lovely short stories by debutant author Dr. Sujata Chatterjee. The stories are narrated in a simple style, leaving an everlasting impact on its readers. Each of the plots can be well understood by anyone and everyone and there lies the beauty of this book. Some of my personal favourites are - A Fable, The Wheel of Fortune, Physician's Prayer and A Message in the Mist in order of my liking. Coming to the getup of the book, it is a hardbound non-standard sized book of around 100 pages. The cover page captures the vibrant colours of the book very aptly. Rightly said by the author, her book ensures a colourful journey touching the seven shades of rainbow while traversing through her collection of short stories presented in 'Flights of Fantasy'. I w

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "Ballad of a Belle" by Rahul Tushar

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer S Bando for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Just as you think you've got the answer, Rahul adds another twist in this grisly murder mystery replete with drugs, jealousy, sexuality, intrigue, and violence. You must pay attention to every word if you want to keep up with the story because it isn't straightforward in any sense. The descriptions of drug-induced hazes are particularly interesting—you almost feel like you're in one yourself. Rahul writes so lucidly that you can feel the warmth of desert and the chill of Kashmir as the protagonist is rudely snatched away from her childhood haven. You feel sorry for her as she is unable to comprehend how and why the world is changing so quickly around her. Or is she? From Priya's revelations, it does not seem that Aarti is quite as innocent as she is first made out to be. That's the beauty of this tale—there are

Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: 'Making a Poem' by Vihang A. Naik

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer S Bando for reviewing the book on behalf of #Literoma. ** Poetry always fascinates me, especially if the language is English. Having read almost all classic poets of all genres, I also equally read poetic creations of contemporary writers. And that's what made me pick up Vihang's poetry book 'Making a Poem'. At the very first place, the title of the book caught my eyes - 'making of a poem' wow! What a soothing title. Equally streamlined is his poetic touch. Hardly twenty five poems in the book but each has the magic of its own. At the end it left a strong feeling in me that why did the poet stopped just at twenty five. It ought to be more. I will highly look forward to his next anthology. Overall I will like to rate the book as 4.3*/5*. Go for the book to relish a mental smoothie.

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘The Retribution’ by Dr. Shankar Kashyap

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer S Banerjee for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** ‘The Retribution’ by Dr. Shankar Kashyap is by far the best contemporary pycho thriller I have read in last couple of years. Story curation is extremely impactful and so are the scene setting. The foreign backdrop adds a special touch to the plot for Indian readers. The on ground detailing is so vivid that readers can easily visualize the crime scenes. Author being a medical practitioner himself could full utilize his professional knowledge and expertise in crafting the modus operandi of the murders. It was captivating to come across so many innovative approaches. The title captures the essence well but not the cover. Narration style of the author is appreciable and so is his grip on English language.  I will like to rate the novel as 4.5*/5* and would strongly recommend for readers who are interested in thought provoking dar
