Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘Indu - The Parched Woman’ by Devi Raghuvanshi

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.**

** Thanks to our reviewer Reetwika Banerjee for reviewing the book on behalf of #Literoma. **

The novel is the through the eyes of a young Bengali named Indu who gets married to Uday, a poor farmer from one of the most conservative Jat families of Haryana. Unfortunately, soon after their marriage Indu loses her love and is left alone with the girefs of widowhood. In a world full of interracial conflicts, how does she defend her feeble existence is the story all about.

Like all his novels, Raghu did a wonderful storytelling against a social melodramatic backdrop. Characters of Ajay, Pihu and Indu have been well depicted so that readers feel for them while reading the book.

Unlike other books, the cover page did not appeal me at all this time. May be because the cover image of the lady does not look like a Bengali old woman at all.

I will like to rate the novel as 4*/5*.
