#Literoma Book Review : LYRICAL MUSINGS by Soumen Roy Thanks to author for gifting us a copy of his book for review. Thanks to our reviewer Tamal Mukherjee for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ************ "Poetry is the song of heart" LYRICAL MUSINGS by Soumen Roy is a collection of odes, ballads and mixed genre poems written in simple English with a tinge of honest emotion flowing directly from the poet's heart. Every poem has a magic of its own. Some of the poems which I loved the most are - Canvas of Poet, Blissful Love, If, Cherish, Stigma, Reticent Passion and Ode To My Brother. Next, the book's title and an equally apt cover design made it a must read for me this winter.  The book as a whole is a handpicked collection from Soumen Roy's lyrical desk. We wish him all the very best for his future titles. Our readers would look forward to his next book.  Our overall rating: 4*/5*. #Literoma Book Review : SCAR by Soumen Roy

#Literoma Book Review : SCAR by Soumen Roy Thanks to author for gifting us a copy of his book for review. Thanks to our reviewer Tamal Mukherjee for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ************ Tear jerk storyline with realistic characters 'Scar' the name itself caught my attention. Is it the story of someone I know closely? Can I see a shadow of author himself in his own protagonists? Well, whatsoever, judging it only as a fictional narrative, Scar will leave a permanent scar on your mind, especially at the end. Cannot spoil the thread by disclosing the climax here, but I really wish, if it ended on a little more positive note.  Overall, the novel is a wonderful attempt by debut writer Soumen Roy. We wish him all the very best for his future endeavours. Our readers would look forward to his next novel.  Our overall rating: 4*/5*. #Literoma Book Review - 'FLASHBACK' by Rupali Gupta Mukherjee

Thanks to our reviewer for the encouraging words. 'FLASHBACK' by Rupali Gupta Mukherjee brings to her readers 'a few pages from her diary'. The book comprises of travel anecdotes and poetry, topped up with lyrical quotations. Another lovely aspect of the book is its cover.  Inside, there are nature photographs clicked by author herself. It creates an instant relationship with reader's mind. I must say, author is successful in taking her readers on a visual expedition.  The book is very neatly designed and published by Literoma. Wish to read her next title.  Overall rating: 4*/5* All the Literoma reviews are available at our page:- https://literomagroup.blogspot.com/

#LITEROMA Book Review :: ‘Ghazals: A Collection of Ghazals in English' by Dr. Shankar Kashyap

** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** ‘Ghazals: A Collection of Ghazals in English' by Dr. Shankar Kashyap is a wonderful anthology of romantic verses served fresh in high quality English language. As we all know, Ghazals were originally created to spread the aroma of love by Urdu saints. Dr. Kashyap's poems are truly ghazals, capturing the best of its essence in all aspects. Author's strong emotions have made a beautiful way through his poetic words. We would like to wish the author, all the very best for his next book. Readers looking for poetic contents, would land up on the right plane.  Our overall rating: 4*/5*. All the Literoma reviews are available at our page:- https://literomagroup.blogspot.com/

#LITEROMA Book Review :: ‘Yes Sir I killed My Mom !: The Mommy Killer’ by Anuj Tikku

** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** ‘Yes Sir I killed My Mom !: The Mommy Killer’ by actor turned author Anuj Tikku brings an insight to the world of extramarital affairs and subsequent crimes in a high society. Well I am not going to discuss the plot as part of this review and act as a spoilsport but must say couple of things - Anuj does know how to grab a reader's attention. The disturbing cover and an equally catchy book title were the first two things which made me read his book again.   All the chapters are narrated with precise details. Starting from a hunky dory life of a high class family to the fall of characters and then the bloody climax - I mean just wow. Only spoiler in the entire reading journey is the poor editing quality. I guess we had mentioned this in our earlier reviews too. It, at times, seem that the raw manuscript itself has been published without any professional proofing. Author, if in a writing spree, may consider u

#Literoma Book Review: Mehfil-e-Ghazal by Dr. Shankar Kashyap

#Literoma Book Review: Mehfil-e-Ghazal by Dr. Shankar Kashyap ** Thanks to our reviewer Satabdi for this amazing review on behalf of Literoma. ** Reading Mehfil-e-Ghazal is an experience in itself. You feel the full force of the author's emotions--love, compassion, and friendship--and cannot help but be swept away in the gushing waves. For those unfamiliar with the concept of the ghazal, the author has painstakingly provided a fascinating history of the poetic form. He calls it a "brief" history but I feel it is complete in that it enables the reader to appreciate the ghazal collection all the more. I did not know so much thought and effort went into composing a ghazal. Did you know ghazals are composed in English as well apart from the traditional languages of Persian, Urdu, and Arabic? Yes, historically ghazals have been composed in English as well although I feel they do not hold a candle to the Urdu creations because of the restraints of the language. Illustrated with

#LITEROMA Book Review :: ‘Milli Meet Miss Lilly: The Two Women In My Life’ by Anuj Tikku

** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** ‘Milli Meet Miss Lilly: The Two Women In My Life’ by actor turned author Anuj Tikku brings an insight to the world of fashion designers. It is a short and crisp triangular love story between a mortal couple and a mannequin. Though the core plot is wildly fictional but it has a psychic side as well. The frustrations from Dev's profession gets him into such stress that he discovers a silent emotional bond with a latex made female body called Lilly, keeping aside his blood and flesh partner Milli. It is perhaps Lilly's dumbness what brings Dev closer to her which slowly turns to an obsession. Poor Milli.  Though there are editing mistakes throughout the book, but the wilderness of the story kept us glued till the end. We would like to wish Mr. Tikku, the author, all the very best for his future writing stints. Readers looking for adult contents, would land up on the right plane.  Our overall rating: 3.4*/5

#LITEROMA Book Review :: ‘Pendowns’ by Ian Pinto

** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** The first thing which I loved about this book is its cover. There is a lovely tagline which is written in an epistolary style. Also the simplicity of the cover design rightly captures the tone of the book.  The book title is equally catchy and strokes a warmth in reader's mind. Coming to the contents, Ian Pinto did a satisfactory job. 50 poems wrapped in style. To quote the poet himself, "Poetry is the language of the intuitive spirit." From the cover page though it may seem to be a book of letters, but when the contents unveil, readers will be surprised to find it to be a poetry compilation. Some of my favourites are - Faith, Dawn, Mary, Death, Beguiled and When I met Jesus.  Only recommendation for his next book would be to make it a little thicker content-wise, so that a reader can spend few evenings with it. For me, I just finished it over a single coffee. We would like to wish Ian, the young

#LITEROMA Book Review :: "Shankaracharya : Spilling Holy Blood" by Anuj Tikku

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a Kindle copy of the book for review. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Anuj Tikku's books always come with a difference from the mass publications. This too is no exception. "Shankaracharya : Spilling Holy Blood" is a dark religious novel which claims to expose a lot of politics behind holy temples. Well, I am not here to comment on the right or wrong information brought to light in this book, but from a purely literary standpoint Anuj Tikku has mastered the art of storytelling. He knows how to keep readers glued from cover to last page. The cover image of a Kapalik or Chandal and such a bold title create the right mix of curiosity and adamance for a reader to start eyeing through the lines. We will wait to read his next book for sure. Overall, we would like to rate the book as 3.5*/5*.  All the Literoma reviews are available at our page:- https://literomagroup.blogspot.com/

#LITEROMA Book Review :: You & Me Are "Imperfectly Perfect" by T Shree

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a Kindle copy of the book for review. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** You & Me Are "Imperfectly Perfect" by T Shree is the second book from the You & Me Series by author T Shree. It is a wonderful contemporary novel on romance and relationships. T Shree already created ripples through the previous title and this comes like an ice-cream topping.  My liking for the book starts with the character naming - Itisha. She is the female lead of the novel. The character arc is beautifully built and is very realistic. I mean that's how a normal blood-and-bone person would react to in hours of distress. Abhimanyu, the male lead, is also complemented well to make a couple, who are not larger than life.  Loved the book title too. Let's not discuss the story and be a spoilsport. Only low scorrer for me is the book cover, but can be ignored keeping in mind the quality of contents. Our rating

#LITEROMA Book Review :: ‘The Kingdom of God’ by Niranjan Mudholkar

** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Seldom you find a fiction which touches culture, ancient history, treasure hunt and suspense simultaneously with equal significance. ‘The Kingdom of God’ by Niranjan Mudholkar is one such rare example. The book title is so apt and so are the character namings which are immensely relevant to their character arcs, helping readers to connect the missing dots.  Since the book is written in the backdrop of ancient India, it is going to expose a lot of facts which many of us did not know. Not sure, how much research went behind the background work of this novel, but author has mastered the art of keeping his readers glued to the context and believe them being true.  The book cover art and font are quite apt. Copy editing quality could have been a little better. We would like to wish Mr. Niranjan Mudholkar, the author, all the very best for his future writing stint. A must-read for anyone who is looking out for histo

#LITEROMA Book Review :: ‘Airport Kabul’ by Anuj Tikku

** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Seldom you find a book which touches a story and harsh reality simultaneously. ‘Airport Kabul’ by Anuj Tikku is one such rare example. The plot is set in the backdrop of the Taliban siege of Kabul and how a poor Afghan family escapes the terror struck country. A thrilling ride awaits you. Take a grab and enjoy the weekend with this filmy novel.  Since the book is written from a feminist standpoint, as a woman reader I tend to strike an immediate chord with the protagonist Hasija.  The book cover looks a little cluttered to me, however the background image is apt.  We would like to wish Mr. Tikku, the author, all the very best for his future writing stints.    Our overall rating: 4*/5*. #LITEROMA Book Review :: ‘You'll Always Be My Favorite "What If"’ by T Shree

** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** ‘You'll Always Be My Favorite "What If"’ by T Shree is the first book of You and Me Series started by author. The plot presents a love story with perfect mix of anticipation, turmoil and romance. Who has seen the future? No one! But we must listen to our hearts, come what may on way. That's the message author wants to spread through the book. After a long time I enjoyed reading a full length novel that touched my dormant feelings for someone. Well, that nails the author's success. Narration style is quite absorbing. However, the editing quality could have been a little to ensure smooth reading experience. We would like to wish T Shree, the author, all the very best for her future endeavors. Our overall rating: 4*/5*.
