Film Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘ADHURA’ by Euphoria Films (3rd Review)

** Thanks to Euphoria Films for requesting us to review their new release. **

** Thanks to our reviewer Rinku for reviewing the short film on behalf of Literoma. **

Film Presentation:-
Adhura as a short film is definitely a good watch with a different angle of love in the plot. Compared to other short films which generally start in a hurry, this one rather started little slow; but the perfect filler was its soulful song. Very aptly placed. You will hardly find any short film to portray a full length original song of its own. For that, Adhura stands out from the crowd.

Another beautiful aspect of the film was its silence. No dialogues yet so much of emotions conveyed. The Director did a good job here. Unnecessary romantic conversations could have diluted the gravity of the content.

The review will be incomplete without making a mention of the acting skill of all the key players, especially Praveen and Dhruv. Their screen-shares demand a special mention, majorly where they had an internal chat regarding Mira.

Film Adapation:-
I was lucky to have reviewed the book 'Fantastic 40' by Reetwika Banerjee from where ADHURA has been originally adapted from. I could at once relate to her micro story 'One Rainy Day' even before it appeared on the screen. So, that was the meaningful impact of her story which made me relate after 3 years of reading. It was no doubt one of the best stories in that book.

Though there have been some noticeable changes in the short film from the original story (ex: Background scene setting was not Durga Puja, it was rain; the place was a crowded bus stop unlike an urban bylane shown in the film, Bunny's character has been added in the film with no mention in the original story and so on), the final presentation came out really well. However, personally I felt, Bunny's character could have been avoided which in turn would have reducded the screening time making the convergence more focussed.

Overall, Literoma rates the film as 4.8*/5* and recommends to U/A audience. The short film 'Adhura' can be watched in Youtube at:
