Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘Harappa - 2: Fall of Shuruppak’ by Dr. Shankar N Kashyap (4th Review)

‘The fall of Shuruppak’ perfectly lives up to the expectation set by Dr. Shankar Kashyap with his first book of the Harappa trilogy – ‘The lure of Soma’. The book sets off exactly where ‘The lure of Soma’ ended.

This time, the protagonist Upashantha is joined by his wife Lopa, Parthava and Elaamite Prince Shushan in his journey. The journey is narrated and described so elegantly that the reader is bound to fall in love with it without caring too much about the end of it. This is a journey to explore and experience truth. Mr. Kashyap’s brilliance once again ensured the reader becomes a part of this bunch of explorers.

If not for anything else, every reader must give this book a try for the quest it depicts. As a part of the quest, the book takes the readers through fights against mythical demons, journey across unknown lands and experiences of facing unimaginable creatures.

The best part of the book is the multiple layers it presents its readers with – a reader can read this book from a superficial story standpoint without getting into the skin of the things; also, a second school of readers can get into the underlying stuffs the book presents. Either way, the book absolutely sets the ground for its third and the final book of the Harappa trilogy.

Literoma rates it to be a 4.9*/5*. Overall, this second book in the series along with the other two books of the Harappa Trilogy is highly recommended for readers who can value the worth of it.
