‘Fantastic 40’ by Reetwika Banerjee is a collection of 40 Micro stories based on different subjects which touch different facades of life. These stories are so compact that any reader can read it in one breath. It needs special mention that the Micro story concept is a National record by Author and will soon appear in world records.

Each story in the book has its own beauty. Subject of each story is so beautifully presented that it leaves an impact on reader's mind. I have to mention three stories which outstood for me, those are, “My lost Note”, “Met her on Board” and “Met him by chance”.

'My lost note’ is a story of a boy who kept his note in another book and doubted his friend from bias he had in his mind. ‘Met on her board’ is a story of two people who loved each other but couldn’t tell and met after 10yrs in a flight. Both stories are so beautifully written that they give zenith of literary satisfaction.

The story which created a long lasting impact on my mind is “Met him by chance”. In this story Protagonist meets her Idol whom he used to admire from childhood by chance in a book fair but couldn’t recognize him. The flow of events and language used is so beautiful that reader can experience all the events. A short film named “Ittefaq Se” is based on this story.

Literoma rates “Fantastic 40” 4.7*/5*. Altogether the book is a great read. Author has articulated each story so gracefully that it can be a book to cherish forever.
