Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘Hangover’ by Shilpi

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book. **

'Hangover' is the debut book by a management professional turned a homemaker turned an author named Shilpi. The protagonist Sneha's life closely shadows the author in herself through her expressions, poems, Bryan Adam favourites, shayaris and so on.

Positives:-
1. As they say, “Never judge a book by its cover”. ‘Hangover’ is one of those books which tend to change your take about the saying. As a reader, one will be tempted to defy the saying and love the cover of its book. The content mostly lives up to the expectation set by the cover.
2. The book is very slim making it a good one-sitting read.
3. Unlike other novels, it is written mostly in a conversational note and thus can be easily understood by any passing reader.
4. Language used is also very simple and easy to grab.
5. Plot is nothing new, but a good try of age old concept of lost love.

Areas of Improvements:-
1. Proofreading and editing gaps create a very annoying experience while reading any book. This book seems to be a direct printed version of raw manuscript without any typo corrections made, ex: in Page 1 - God is printed as 'god' which is not just incorrect, but also a dishonour to the Almighty as well; next in Page 4, it should be losing not 'loosing' contact. You will find such innumerable silly mistakes across the book which definitely brings the score down however good the actual content is. To gift a smooth reading experience to readers, the author must pay attention to these minute yet essential details in her next titles.
2. It was not necessary to mention the full Bryan Adams' song as it is quite wellknown to everyone, also it might invite IPR issues if royalty has not been paid to the original song maker, since this book's copyright is owned by author.

Overall, a nice read. We rate it to be a 3.1*/5* and recommend for a passing read. Literoma will look forward to see the author exploring this genre further.
