"Two Shades of Yellow : It's not just a color but the words unspoken" by Akanksha Mishra is a romantic novella, written through the eyes of a young girl named Diya. She hates men but still falls in love with someone named Rahul who finally dumps her making her premonitions about male fraternity true. Then her life goes through a series of roller coaster rides and takes a U-turn holding the hands of Ronit. Well, that's the crux of the novel in a nutshell.

The cover makes a deep impact and so is the book title. I particularly loved the concept of double shades of yellow, hardly anybody thought it that way and no one to my knowledge related the colour to the bipolar sides of our society.

But as a novella, I found it to be another run on the mill kind of novella on love, hatred and compassion with common KJo camp namings like Rahul-Diya-Ronit and a strong similarity with Dharma Production's millennial movies. However, this book stands apart from the common stories in the narration style and the simplicity of subplots.

Overall Literoma rates the book as 3.8*/5* and recommends it for teenage readers who still fantasizes love. Matured readers might not find it an intriguing read.
