Book Review by #LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "Brahmahatya" by Rajiv Mittal

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a Kindle copy of the book for review. **

Having read Rajiv's newest title "Panchateertha", I agreed to review his previous title "Brahmahatya". The intriguing title of the book caught my attention and I decided to give it a read over the weekend. And it lived up to my expectations.

Our Hindu mythology is one of the oldest and largest repository of good vs devil kind stories and Rajiv has beautifully portrayed analogies in recreating the epics in the backdrop of 21st century landscape. More than his storylines, I loved his style of setting up mythical connections more. Characters like Ravi, Bhavna and Mrs. Raghavan are extremely crucial and have been well depicted. The length of the novel is also very apt - neither too long, nor a quick read type. Storytelling is also fluent but non-Hindu readers might find it difficult to relate to the inherent epical treatment of the backend story.

The only thing which I did not like about the book is its cover. It looks too amateurish compared to the actual contents. Author may plan to get a more impactful cover for his next book, because needless to say, cover creates a big impact in a reader's mind even while taking a pause between readings.

After reading a couple of novels by Rajiv I must say, he has a good grip over Hindu mythology and our religious scriptures. Also, he has been ably successful in noncanonical adaptation of many of the mythological episodes in modern times.

Overall, I would like to rate it as 4*/5*. Looking forward to read his next book soon.
