Rishi Markandeya's original version of Durga Saptashati was always a very heavy read for me but at the same time I wanted to read it being a devotee of Durga Maa. Thanks to the author who helped me in reading and understanding the mythological excellence in a language which I understand. "Joy Maa Durga" by Atul Chandra Sarkar is a wonderful book, especially for modern readers like us, who are more versed in English than Sanskrit. Special appreciation for the illustrator who visualized the different forms of Shakti and depicted it on paper.

I rate it 4*/5* and recommend it as a must read for all the devotees of Goddess Shakti.
