#Literoma Book Review - 'Kash Tum Samajh Pate' by Manisha Yadava
Thanks to author for sharing a review copy of the book with #Literoma.
Thanks to our reviewer Satabdi Mukherjee for reviewing the book on behalf of #Literoma.
Dr. Manisha Yadava is an inspirational figure, not only through her writing but also through her life struggles. She did not give up her dream to be a published poetess despite the various hurdles she faced.
This collection of poems is a pleasure to read for its rich thought, beautiful word choice, and lyrical sentence quality. Dr. Yadava tackles a wide variety of themes--women's empowerment, homosexuality, communal harmony, terrorism, social media, different shades of love, myriad thoughts on life, and ends with an evergreen topic--Holi.
My favorite poems are Mombattiyan, which is a satire on the hypocrisy of people who hold candle marches in memory of women who died due to sexual violence, Khuda Ka Khauf, where a murderer is berated for killing an innocent child, Pita Roopi Sasur, which is a tender ode to a loving father-in-law, and Mera Facebook Wala Pyaar, which is a humorous take on finding love on social media.
Her poems are grounded in reality and this will allow readers to easily relate to her verses. This book can be a great accompaniment to an evening of refreshment and conversation.
It is a 5*/5* book for me.
