Rimli Bhattacharya: The Rising Star of Literoma Galaxy

Author: Rimli Bhattacharya

Romance is a popular yet a very difficult genre to explore in literature and that's exactly where Rimli Bhattacharya has ventured into with a smashing record over the years. Her first book 'The Crosshairs of Life' received a warm welcome earlier. However, Rimli's recent release 'That Day It Rained' made it to the Literoma Bestsellers at Book Fair 2021 (Kolkata, New Town). Both of Rimli's story books are tied to the same string of dark romance and nuptial abuses on women. It seems Rimli has mastered the genre with her powerful nib.

Most of her storylines bring out tough dilemmas of women when she is subject to extreme social, psychological or physical assaults by her own family members and/or dear ones. 'Running a Solo Marathon' from her debut book narrates how difficult is the life of a single woman / mother, fighting against all odds of life. Similarly, the title story of her second book, 'That Day It Rained' portrays the struggle of a pregnant lady who ends up fighting the battle all alone. In this context, to quote Mrs. Urmimala Basu, an avid reader and veteran voice artist from the land of culture Kolkata, "If you need to give a strong lesson to a womaniser husband, it is important to have a fake lover. This is my personal tip. As a woman, I don't want a false man who would lie to me when her wife is around. I don't demand any commitment either. All what I yearn for is someone who will care to ask me if I have an umbrella when I am going out in the rains. That's all." (Thanks to Subrata Mondal from ABP for the correspondence).

On the other hand, Rimli's nib has also delved deeper into the para-psychological space, wherein she has tried traumatic depiction of schizophrenia and other neurological disorders. 'Those Voices' and 'Destination' stood out of the lot. "Rimli's power-packed plots have an everlasting impact that any woman, who is subject to marital or conjugal crimes, will be easily able to relate to. Even the lot of blessed women may feel scared to fall in love if nightmares go true!", says one of her readers referring to the story, 'Love That Went Wrong' from the book 'That Day It Rained'. Such is the appeal of Rimli's narratives. Team Literoma will eagerly wait to read her next title, hoping to release soon.
