#Literoma Book Review - 'Stories for the Innocents' by NS Ravi

Thanks to NS Ravi for sharing a review copy of the book with #Literoma. Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of #Literoma. 'Stories for the Innocents' by NS Ravi presents an array of refreshing stories stung together. Mr. Ravi had already shown the range of his writing in all his previous works - Those were the days, Khan vs Kahn vs Kahn, Marriage Made in Mumbai Local, Different shades of Women and The Leader. The stories told in the book 'Stories for the innocents' tell the stories of a set of corner characters - characters whom you feel curious about but whom you can't know because of the lack of a bridging channel. This particular book works exactly as that channel which helps the readers to delve deep into the lives of characters such as an RJ or "The Bihari". All the stories deserve praise for the simplicity of the words used without impacting the effectiveness of the reading experience. However, the story that stands out is ...

Book Review by #LITEROMA :: "The Stranger's Bedroom" by Bijoy Munshi

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a Kindle copy of the book for review. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** "The Stranger's Bedroom" is a recently published ebook by author Bijoy Munshi. He is a full time corporate and part time writer, as claimed by the author himself. His writing has a distinct fluidity which caught my reader's eyes within the initial few paras. He has neatly presented his novel in the form of a Kindle quick read. I am not going to talk about the storyline as that will be nothing but a spoiler for a thriller genre. Irrespective of the slim contents, it came out really well at the end. As I kept getting into the deeper folds of characters like Kriti, Rohan and the protagonist himself, I discovered an intriguing storyline, not only fresh but also quite innovative characterizations.  Coming to book cover, it's designed well, so is the editing. The book starts with an exciting prologue, not sur...

Book Review by #LITEROMA :: "From Regular to Remarkable" by Dr. Roopleen

** Thanks to the author for gifting a review copy of the book. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** The book title tells a lot about its genre. Calling it just a self-help book will be an undeserving applause of its contents. "From Regular to Remarkable" by  Dr. Roopleen talks much beyond that. Ideology is that lesson which in a word is almost impossible to teach but you can definitely help people uplift their ideologies through your positive thoughts, inspirational vibe and last but not the least motivational quotes. Roopleen's new title exactly does the work of a healer, creating a magic with its 365 quotes. You have a quote for every day right from success, failure, careerscope, mind, life and many more. A sample quote from the book which moved me is given below (from Pg 111):- "Two golden virtues for success are patience and persistence. Patience wont let you quit and persistence will keep you going." Wow, ...

Book Review by #LITEROMA :: "Reasons to Smile" by Yastika Jha

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer Ink Satty for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** We all need a 'Reason to Smile' in our life". A title which is very well thought of by our young author, Yastika Jha. It's hard to believe Yastika being so young in her age while we scroll through pages of her novel. I am personally impressed with the narrative of the story of 'Reasons to smile'. The author seems well researched on the various temperaments of her fiction characters and thereby shaping them up over realizing this wonderful crafty tale. We see how friendship unfolds to promises kept to nostalgic moments of near and dear ones to hold on to the purpose of living. This novel has it all! Readers get a very positive vibe which brings along a genuine smile along each face reading the book. A very mature style of writing and I can ascertain the great potential of the writer in Yashika to fly h...

Book Review by #LITEROMA :: "Reasons to Smile" by Yastika Jha

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer Chitranshu Mandhar for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Just one word: Marvellous. It's hard to believe that this novella “Reasons To Smile” is written by 15 years old. A short and sweet read that revolves around the friendship of four successful musicians who broke up and went on following their life journey after one of them succumbs to cancer. After 7 years of break, one of the band member, Kiran, now the best-selling author decides to find their lost friend Sharmin and revive their band “Indigo Colours”. Yastika Jha, the author, has beautifully webbed the timeline and the events. Each character has his/her own temperament which can be seen as you move along the story. Overall rating: 4.5*/5*. If you like friendship and chick-lit then I would strongly suggest you read this “Reasons To Smile”. All the Literoma reviews are available at our page:- https://literomag...

Book Review by #LITEROMA :: "Reasons to Smile" by Yastika Jha

Book Review by #LITEROMA :: "Reasons to Smile" by Yastika Jha ** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer Kausik for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Unless you are being told about the age of the author, you cant guess the reality. A 15-year old created a wonder piece I must say. "Reasons to Smile" is debut novella by Yastika Jha, a student of DPS, New Town school. Good to see younger generations coming forward to creative writing where the world is complaining about decreasing book reading habits in kids. The plot surrounds a lady who realizes the worth of her passion for music after a screwed up interview. The storyline is simple yet comes with enough turns and twists to keep it interesting for young readers. The target group of this book are teenagers like the author herself. I would like to rate the book as 4.2*/5*. My best wishes to Yastika, Literoma, her teachers and parents to make it ...

Book Review by #LITEROMA :: "Reasons to Smile" by Yastika Jha

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer Sneha Prakash Thakur for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Sometimes in life, when something or some event goes wrong, not like the way we had planned, it changes our life completely. At times for good and at times really bad. This story revolves around a famous author Kiran Tripathi and her musical band. After an interview went wrong she realized what her band meant for her. How they gathered themselves and whether they achieved their goal or not is this story all about. I really loved the positivity and friendship portrayed all through the novella. If you are not informed beforehand you will not realise that this book is written by a 15 year old child. The language and narration are far matured than the author's actual age. The book will keep you glued with its twist and turns. Overall, my rating of the book is 4*/5*. An amazing read!! All the Literoma reviews are ...

Book Review by #LITEROMA :: "Reasons to Smile" by Yastika Jha

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer Satabdi Mukherjee for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** For someone so young, Yastika has an amazing handle on friendship, companionship, human connection, and heartbreak. I was close to tears several times throughout the book, so eloquent is her writing. She gives “Reasons to Smile” a credible ending, which is both happy and sad at the same time. Scenes dealing with death and despair as well as hope and longing are touchingly crafted. Yastika has given each protagonist equal attention, drawing up their personalities with great care. She uncovers the human face of so-called celebrities and reminds us that they have their flaws and idiosyncracies as well. Yastika rarely lets down the pace of the narrative, even through scenes of sorrow and disagreements. She also keeps alive the mystery of the secret that Kiran makes to Aditi just before her death—I didn’t guess it until the ...

Book Review by #LITEROMA: "Blahman and the Attack of the Wicked Zombies" by Srijan Kabra

** Thanks to the author for sharing a Kindle copy for review. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Book Title: Blahman and the Attack of the Wicked Zombies Author: Srijan Kabra Language: English Category: Comic Fiction Type: Novella No of pages: <100 Genre: Fantasy Target Readers: Kids and children below 15 years I mean I could not imagine looking at the book that it is written by a kid of hardly 8-12 years! The well balanced imagaries, rational fantasies, comic strips with controlled usage of English language makes it a complete read for me. To be honest, I am not much into children literature these days, but this book made me fall in love with the genre again. Srijan's parents and teachers must keep motivating him to write more. The cover looks captivating, beautifully capturing the essence of the contents packed inside. More so, because the illustrations are done by the little author himself. The concept of throwback ...

Book Review by #LITEROMA :: "Reasons to Smile" by Yastika Jha

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer Reetwika Banerjee for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** This is author's 1st book and is definitely a great read. Yastika is a student of 11th standard at a reputed school of Kolkata. Her grip over the foreign language speaks a lot about her upbringing and lessons received from parents and teachers respectively. I am not here to narrate the storyline but one thing which I liked the most is the book title. REASONS TO SMILE. What a positive outlook towards life! We, especially at adolescence, tend to portray romantic pessimism through our pens but this girl stood out of the mass by bringing out such a lively association of music lovers. Parents and teachers should keep the momentum going. My rating of the book is 4.6*/5*. All the Literoma reviews are available at our page:- https://literomagroup.blogspot.com/
