#LITEROMA Book Review :: ‘Whispers of Ruins: Quest for Rama's Dossier’ by Navin Kumar

** Thanks to our reviewer Swapna Peri for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Book Title: Whispers of Ruins: Quest for Rama's Dossier Author: Navin Kumar Format: Kindle Book Title: The title of the book ' Whispers of Ruins: Quest for Rama's Dossier ' is quite interesting and Book Cover: The book's cover image is of an old book with rumbles and browned papers held by a person and has a light shedding out from the book. It is quite a magical and attractive cover image. My review: Indian history and Hindu mythology have always been a treasure chest of many untold stories and unknown mysteries. This book is written on similar lines where the plot goes back to the Ramayana times and oscillates between this generation. Every chapter in the book has a twist and mystery hidden. As the story progresses, the thrill element maximizes. This book is a perfect holiday pick, and readers of any age can read the book. Characters: This is where the story is rich in its plot...

#LITEROMA Book Review :: ‘Whispers of Ruins: Quest for Rama's Dossier’ by Navin Kumar

** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Seldom you find a book which touches history, mythology and crime fiction simultaneously with equal ease. ‘Whispers of Ruins: Quest for Rama's Dossier’ by Navin Kumar is one such rare example. Since the scenes are set at varied locations, the reader will tend to strike an immediate visualization with the protagonists. Let me tell our first observation here - the very title is so captivating that we could not stop reading it till the end in one shot. Yes, you read it correct. A 300 pager completed over a single night! That tells a lot about the pace, quality of plot and storytelling style of Navin Kumar. Can't disclose much about the storyline here (the blurb on Amazon is good enough), but one thing we must say - Ever since the story starts unfolding, the readers will be embarked on a modern crime fiction plot, tightly rivetted to historic & mythological events. It starts with Chamundi Hill of Southe...

#LITEROMA Book Review :: ‘Too Far Gone - A Radha Bose Crime Thriller Novel’ by Chandrayan Gupta

** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** The first thing that caught my eyes was the minimalistic cover. Second was not the title, but its tagline - A RADHA BOSE THRILLER. When I picked this book, I did not know who is this Bong lady - Ms. Radha Bose! Because it is my first read from the author's desk. Initially I thought it might be author's pen name, but soon after flipping through the pages I understood who Radha Bose is and Aditya, her second man. She is the lead detective and you may witness her come back soon at another crime scene etched by Chandrayan. Don't expect me to disclose the storyline in my review here, as that will not only spoil your curiosity but also poison the hard efforts of the author. I liked the analogies drawn by author with the attributes of different colours like blue, blood red and black at different parts of the story. Also, the story being written mostly in a narrative (or conversational) style, it seemed qui...

#LITEROMA Book Review :: ‘Awakening Consciousness: Awaken Your Inner Power’ by Gandharv PT (Author)

** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** Seldom I find a non-fiction book which touches my consciousness and life's philosophy simultaneously. ‘Awakening Consciousness: Awaken Your Inner Power’ by Gandharv PT (Author) is one such rare example. It is a collection of 91 articles on spirituality, sort of a guide to self discovery which took me almost a fortnight to finish reading, before I attempt to write a review.  Rightly pointed our author, this book is a quest of reality, the reason behind the existence of every earthly matter. Each article is built upon a step closer towards our ultimake moksh or awakening. The readers will be embarked on a modern retelling of deep-rooted philosophy.  Other than every thing else, the most important aspect of the book is interior illustrations, done by author's daughter. Editing quality is also on the better side than most of the self-published books. Unfortunately, the book cover did not score much in...

#LITEROMA Book Review :: ‘Purgatory Voyage: Encountering Life After Death’ by Mr. Adarsh Khare

** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** ** Thanks to author for sharing Kindle copy of the book for review. ** Book Title: Purgatory Voyage: Encountering Life After Death Author: Adarsh Khare Format: Kindle Genre: Fiction (Religious & Spiritual) ‘Purgatory Voyage: Encountering Life After Death’ by Mr. Adarsh Khare is a an outstanding account of mythology and folklores, set in the backdrop of primeval time. It is a completely periodic work where the story dates back to 925 AD. The book describes the story of an era and belief, none of which are witnessed by any potential reader of the book in 2020 for sure. I too had not an iota of idea about the beliefs mentioned. Hence, the task of creating story scenes needed a gigantic effort and the author pulled it off well. Kalidas is the protagonist who traversed this fantasizing journey named 'purgatory voyage' to a prolife world meeting Yamraj, his demi gods and other spirits in an unusual world...

#LITEROMA Book Review :: "The Many Faces of ME/CFS" by Susan, Donna & Gargi

** Thanks to Gargi Sanyal for gifting us a copy of the book. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** "The Many Faces of ME/CFS" by  Susan, Donna & Gargi is a very unique book published originally from US, reprinted in India. It is a story book by real patients suffering from ME/CFS disease worldwide, including book title holders Susan, Donna & Gargi. Talking about own illness and experiences is perhaps the toughest form of narration and all the writers did a fabulous job. Personally being known to Gargi, I could relate to her feelings more than other writers but, I must congratuale all for bringing their hearts out through this book.  In a world which is going through changing paradigms, one thing that remains constant is human emotion and hence the relevance of storytelling. This particular book is going to touch one and all, especially patients suffering from this strange disease.  Overall, we would like to rate the bo...

#LITEROMA Book Review :: "Chaos, Theos & Kosmos" by Kosha Shah Chandaria

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a copy of the book. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** "Chaos, Theos & Kosmos" by  Kosha Shah Chandaria is a very very special book in its own right. The book title tells a lot about its genre. Poetry is the most difficult form of writing and the main barrier towards writing poetry is to think of a topic that penetrates deep within the soul of any reader. In this free flowing stream of emotion, Kosha stood out with her verses.  In a world which is going through changing dynamics, one thing that remains constant is human emotion and hence the relevance of poetry. This particular book is going to touch one and all, especially women, with a flair of creativity, boldness and poetic fervour to awaken their sleeping emotions.  The book is hard bound and printed ensuring top quality. Of all the things, the book cover is the only point where it scores low in my eyes but the creative conten...

#LITEROMA Book Review :: "One Imperfect Family Reunion" by Anubhav Dwivedi

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a Kindle copy of the book for review. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** It needs a near perfect writing skill to pull off the story of an "imperfect" family reunion. Author Mr. Anubhav Dwivedi proved his mettle in this regard and pulled off a great book named ‘One Imperfect Family Reunion’. ‘One Imperfect Family Reunion’ tells the story of Agnihotri family and how each family member was put on the griller by the toughest teacher named "life" after Vishesh and his wife Ahana met with a devastating accident. Lots of drama takes place in the storyline which I am not going to disclose here as part of my review. What touched me most is that how the book brings out a lot about human attributes, how different people respond to crisis and their over journey during a life changing incident.  The swings of different characters in an adverse scenario make this book a class apart. The readers wil...

#Literoma Book Review - 'Wish You Could' by Dr. Manishaa Yadava

Image
Thanks to our reviewer Bishal Sahoo for reviewing the book on behalf of #Literoma. Well, I am falling short of words to describe my feelings after finishing Dr. Manishaa's Wish You Could poetry collection. It is originally written by her in Hindi which is translated by Yeshesvvi to English. The footnotes at the bottom of relevant poems, makes it a much easier read for NRIs like us who are not much acquainted with many Indian traditions, rituals or cultures. I enjoyed the book thoroughly and hope to read her next title soon. I will recommend the book in my circle especially those who want to know Indian culture. My rationg - 4*/5*.  Read all #Literoma book reviews at our blog:  https://literomagroup.blogspot.com/

Thanks to our reviewer Tamal for reviewing the book on behalf of #Literoma. I have been reading and writing her book's reviews since her first book MERE KHAYAL was released. No shame to say, I am literally a fan of her writing now. The way she expresses simplest of emotions with a poetic excellence, talks of her literary elegance. This book too is no exception.  Starting right from topics, expressions, choice of phrases, meters and emotions, this book has all ingredients to make you fall in love with yourself. I will look up to reading her next book soon. Hope the writer grants my wish! Fingers crossed... My rating 4.5*/5*.  Read all #Literoma book reviews at our blog:  https://literomagroup.blogspot.com/

Thanks to our reviewer Prity Saha for reviewing the book on behalf of #Literoma. Book Title: Wish You Could Author: Dr. Manishaa Yadava Format: Paperback & Kindle Mindblowing is the first word that comes to my mind when I started writing my review. I have not read the original Hindi title but after reading this English translation I am literally longing to read the Hindi book now. Congrats to both Manisha and Yeshesvi for the collaborative work. Also, it is worth mentioning the goodness of the book cover by Literoma which first influenced my decision to pick and choose this book for reading.  I will like to rate it 3.8*/5*. Hoping the Hindi original poems will have better feel than the English ones. Read all our book reviews at our blog:  https://literomagroup.blogspot.com/

#Literoma Book Review - 'Wish You Could' by Dr. Manishaa Yadava

Thanks to our reviewer Soundarya Kumar for reviewing the book on behalf of #Literoma. I am not much into poetry but the first two poems gelled me till the end of the book which is a testimony in itself how heart touching are the poems. Coming to Manishaji's poetic style, choice of words and rhyming sense, it's truly mesmerizing. But equal kudos to the translator, her son, who did a splendid job in retaining the originality of the poems with proper usage of words and footnotes. I will be waiting for her next book for sure. She made such a non poetic person like me fall in love with poetry with her creations. My rating 5*/5*.  Read all our book reviews at our blog:  https://literomagroup.blogspot.com/

Book Title: Wish You Could Author: Dr. Manishaa Yadava Format: Paperback & Kindle Book Title: The title of the book ' Wish You Could ' is very exciting and adorable. Book Cover: The abstract cover of the book is very eye catching and meaningful. She runs her own healing forum named Karma Healing Ray. About the book: “Wish You Could” is a collection of 35 Hindi to English translated poems. The thoughts revolve around women centricity and her social stature in today's world. My review: The poems are very soulful and touches almost all aspects of our nav ras. #LITEROMA Book Review :: "COVID-19 Infection in Pregnancy" by Dr. Richa Saxena

** Thanks to the author for sharing a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer Harshit Jindal for reviewing the book on behalf of #Literoma. ** Well I am not a doctor, so my review is entirely from a common man or reader's perspective. I love reading non-fiction and hence picked up this book. The topic is very pertinent and I am sure it is going to benefit a lot of people, provided the diagnosis/medicines/technicalities mentioned in the book are validated by the medical experts. Dr. Saxena has already mentioned a disclaimer about the time period of her observations in the book itself, keeping in mind the limited info available in public domain about the novel virus. The book cover is nicely designed conveying the essence of the book. Also the title is very direct and complete to understand the contents. Hope to see this book becoming a bestseller. Kudos to Literoma for choosing this title to get a place in their published catalogue. I will like to rate the book on any s...
