Not just as a reviewer, but also a poetry lover, I have cherished reading almost all the poems published in the book. Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘And So Can You’ by Dr. Roopleen

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book.** ** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. ** ‘And So Can You’ is an amazing gift from respected author Dr. Roopleen to her followers and readers. The book comprises of seventeen motivational success stories shared by seventeen eminent doctors and medical practitioners across India. All the narrations are wonderfully captured by the author herself, showcasing the power of an honest dream and the mission to accomplish it. Many authors in the recent past have explored the genre of motivational writing but this book is unique in its own way. Arguably, the first of its type indeed wherein an immensely successful doctor herself has crafted the very base of such a masterpiece. The book quite truly opens up a new avenue altogether for its readers and future medical practitioners which makes it a must read for every doctor and medical students. Only thing which I was missing in the book was ...

Promotional Book Review of ‘Isle of Mysteries’ by Kiran Das (5th Review)

** Thanks to our reviewer for doing a promotional review of the book on behalf of Literoma. ** ** Thanks to Author for gifting a review copy of the book to the reviewer.** ‘Isle of Mysteries’ is a debut book by the author Kiran Das, and hearty congratulations to both the author and Literoma for bringing out Kiran's amateur scribbles in the form of a published novella. It’s a very crisp plot of less than 100 pages so you can enjoy a fast read. The title and cover are no doubt attractive and go well with the theme. But as a critic, however keeping aside all other emotions, I had rather a mixed feeling while glancing my eyes through the pages. The plot brings in young adult fantasy outlines with a vivid description of pre-Independent India and the struggles it had embraced during early freedom movements. The plot is knitted well against the backdrop of action filled pirate attacks, treasure hunt and bloodsheds. The unconventional storyline offers a refreshin...

Promotional Book Review of ‘Isle of Mysteries’ by Kiran Das (4th Review)

** Thanks to our reviewer for doing a promotional review of the book on behalf of Literoma. ** ** Thanks to Author for gifting a review copy of the book to the reviewer.** This is a brilliant book by a first time author Kiran and a page turner in truth. I completed reading this book in just a single sitting. My teenager son's immediate response seeing the book cover stands as the testimony of its aptness. The title too is very catchy. Personally speaking owing to my age I am not much a fantasy reader these days but when Literoma gifted me this book for review, I somehow pushed myself to give a try. But did not realize when I got done with the book. The plot is filmy as rightly said by author and his cinematic inspirations are clearly visible throughout his writing. The clues he left all across the plot were very smart and well knitted at the end. As a suggestion, I would recommend the author to also take inspirations from our legendary Indian classics of similar genre so that ...

Literoma Publishing Services deserve a note of appreciation for helping this techie out to become a published author. Kiran has done a fairly good job in ensuring that the story gets over well before the readers gets bored. As a reader, irrespective of the fact whether you like or don’t like periodic stories go ahead and explore this action drama. It will be worth giving a read. I dont want to spoil the thrill by revealing anything related to the plot in my review here. But its a very...

Promotional Book Review of ‘Isle of Mysteries’ by Kiran Das (1st Review)

** Thanks to our reviewer for doing a promotional review of the book on behalf of Literoma. ** ** Thanks to Author for gifting a review copy of the book to the reviewer.** ‘Isle of Mysteries’ by Kiran Das is a noteworthy effort by ‘Literoma Publishing Services’. The most commendable point about the entire attempt is that as a publishing service provider, Literoma did a fantastic job by encouraging and working on a fantasy novella written in simple Indian English by an debutante writer. Even though novels and short stories always had familiarity amongst the reader fraternity, fantasy novella had not much been explored as a genre in India. We hope this book acts as one of the initial steps in building this much needed genre. Coming to the story, ‘Isle of Mysteries’ is an action packed plot set in the backdrop of pre-independnce era where lots of fictional characters, pirates, their ships, fights, treasure hunts etc take different turns and twists to ultimately discover a hidden tr...

Film Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: ‘Hello Mamma’ by Euphoria Films (4th Review)

** Thanks to Euphoria Films for requesting us to review their new release. ** ** Thanks to our reviewer Sohini Saha for reviewing the short film on behalf of Literoma. ** A short film that raises a very pertinent concern in today’s world where young graduates relocate far from their homes to work in tough corporate conditions at a very young age. They are not only far from their families and cultures that they are familiar with, but all alone in situations which they have never faced before like low cost housing or hostels. Without friends and family and struggling to fit into new cultures, they are often misunderstood and alienated. This film is about the problems of one such north Indian girl working in South India. Both view points of the North and South are brought out beautifully with an emotional twist as an eye opener. Reetwika Bannerjee’s story “Maa, Are your listening?” is well chosen to highlight the trials faced by young professionals and the resulting depression when...

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "My Mute Girl Friend" by Himanshu Rai

Thanks to the author for sharing a review copy of the book. The author being a telecom professional himself has carefully drawn the protagonist's character with due perfection. Readers could easily find author's shadows in Rohan. Storytelling is very simplistic written using easy English words. Only grey area which did not appeal at all is the book cover. The title fonts chosen, the theme, colour combination etc - nothing fit Srishti Publisher's standard. Author must plan to focus more on this aspect in his next books as cover and title display play an important role in any reader's mind. Overall Literoma rates it as 3.1*/5* and recommends for a passing read.

Book Review :: ‘Nature Anthology’ Compiled & Edited by Subrata Bandyopadhyay (1st Review)

** Thanks to our reviewer Sabyasachi Mukherjee for sharing a lovely review of the book. ** Thanks to Literoma Publishing Services and Editor for gifting a review copy of the book. Anthology is a genre which I personally like to read whenever I get some time. Reasons being it carries a wide range of interpretation of the topic and various flavor of those mellows. Nature by itself is a diverse topic. I am an avid admirer of the diversity of nature. May it be of the Nature around us or the Nature within us I like it most when it’s full of diversity. So I was wondering with the book in my hand will it be as diverse as I find nature. Going through the pages of this anthology I was spell bound on how many different flavors and glimpses and mellows of nature is captured within the covers. Worth appreciating would be the diaspora of thoughts of authors who themselves has come from various diverse geography, ages, gender, socio economic background and walks of life and also the creativi...

** Thanks to the author for gifting us a review copy of the book. ** 'Hangover' is the debut book by a management professional turned a homemaker turned an author named Shilpi. The protagonist Sneha's life closely shadows the author in herself through her expressions, poems, Bryan Adam favourites, shayaris and so on. Positives:- 1. As they say, “Never judge a book by its cover”. ‘Hangover’ is one of those books which tend to change your take about the saying. As a reader, one will be tempted to defy the saying and love the cover of its book. The content mostly lives up to the expectation set by the cover. 2. The book is very slim making it a good one-sitting read. 3. Unlike other novels, it is written mostly in a conversational note and thus can be easily understood by any passing reader. 4. Language used is also very simple and easy to grab. 5. Plot is nothing new, but a good try of age old concept of lost love. Areas of Improvements:- 1. Proofreading and edi...

The story that starts in ‘The lure of Soma’ goes to the next level in the book ‘The Fall of Shuruppak’ and finally comes to a logical closure in the final book ‘Battle of ten kings’. The story is told through the eyes of the protagonist Upashantha. It’s, in essence, is the journey of Upashantha in search of the unknown driven by the thirst of knowledge.
